How do I afford to hire an attorney?

On Behalf of | Jun 25, 2018 | Firm News |

People face injustice every day. You have surely encountered a situation where you had to pay for another person’s negligence, or somebody else’s mistakes inconvenienced you. On a small scale, such instances may not have a life-altering impact, but on a bigger scale, they can easily derail your life and leave you struggling to pick up the pieces. This is certainly true when an injury of any kind is involved.

Perhaps your doctor has misdiagnosed you, and your condition has worsened as a result. Maybe you were involved in a car accident that left you injured and unable to work. An attorney can help you fight for justice in such cases, but how can you afford to hire a lawyer when you are already struggling?

Consider the long-term financial consequences

The first thing you should consider is how much money you have already lost as a result of your injury. You have probably been unable to work, and your lost wages have undoubtedly had a major impact on your income. The longer you go without pursuing legal recourse, the more money you are likely to lose because of the situation.

In addition to lost income, you are probably seeing your medical bills mounting. This is particularly troubling if your injury was a result of medical malpractice. Should you be paying for treatment that was incorrect and harmful? If you were in an accident, should you be paying for the consequences of another driver’s recklessness?

Look for no fee without recovery

If you have not consulted with an attorney about your injury, your wages are likely declining and your bills are likely skyrocketing. This is not a financially sustainable situation. Find a lawyer who does not charge a fee without a recovery. This means that your case will be on a contingency basis, and it will cost you nothing out of pocket to hire an attorney.
